Cockatrice are demonic looking chickens, covered in scales. They are though little creatures that can turn people and animals into stone. These monsters peck their victims, driving an unknown poison into their bodies.
A statue added to Frelka's tavern turned out to be a survivor from this so-called petrification attack; he recounts that he was only able to regain his normal form, after a full day of stiff contemplation.
